When 40-year-old Silver Steele from Houston, Texas posts various photos and videos to his social media accounts, he is also sharing his very personal experience with monkey pox. Facing the raging virus that has been appearing in more parts of the world, Steele bravely handles his own case of the virus by bravely documenting his journey for his millions of fans, followers and admirers.
The footage Steele posts is both harrowing and awe-inspiring. He accounts for the growth of the smallpox around his mouth, which he bravely admits gets more painful and prominent with each passing day. However, Steele isn’t sharing the footage to scare people, he is doing it to warn his audiences. He wants to make sure they get vaccinated against the virus as soon as possible, and to alert them of the signs and symptoms associated with monkey pox.
Day 16 of MonkeyPox symptoms. 🐒🦠 I stepped outside to take the dog out and decided to take a progress pic of how my lesions are looking today. The goop you see on them is Vaseline. I’m very scared of potential facial scarring… I’m not picking at anything and just letting it run it’s course naturally.
Day 20, and I’m so very happy to report that I’ve been off pain meds for two days and feel totally fine! Now just to let my face keep healing. Thank you everyone for all your kind words and support, it’s made all the difference in the world! (Btw sorry about the wild hairs near the lesions, I can’t shave right there yet lol)

Finally on Day 22, all my scabs have fallen off. This is also known as the lesions “resolving” and marks the end of my “contagious” period. I’m going to continue to isolate a few more days just to be safe, but I’m feeling good, no pain, and SO ready to get back in the gym as well as see my friends again. The cabin fever is real! Thank you everyone for your continued well-wishes and for getting vaccinated!! Trust me, you do NOT want this! 🐒🦠
Though dealing with a virus like this is always a challenge, Steele also is using his platform to give comfort to those afflicted.
